Outdoor Playgroup

This group provides lots of opportunities for kids to be active and where they can play in all types of weather – splashing in puddles and lots of climbing and digging; lots of social play – exploring together and letting their imaginations run riot. Bring warm clothes that can get dirty, a change of clothes and healthy snacks.

Thursdays: 9.30 am – 11.30 am.

Parent-Child Mother Goose Rhyme Time Groups for Babies and

Pre-schoolers

Give your child the best start in life. Join this group for Parent-Child Mother Goose sessions and enjoy songs, rhymes, stories and morning tea.

Monday mornings during school terms.

Times: 2-4 year olds – 9.30 am – 11.00 am.

              0-2 year olds – 11.30 am – 1.00 pm.

HIPPY – Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters

An early childhood learning and enrichment program that supports parents in getting their child ready for school. The program involves fortnightly group meetings which focus on child development, early years’ education, health and wellbeing. HIPPY Group meetings take place fortnightly on Tuesday mornings between 10.30 am – 12.30 pm at 95 Major Road

HIPPY is now taking referrals for 2020. Children must be 4 years old by the 1st of May to participate. HIPPY is part of Merri Community Health Services. Ring Amy for more information on 9355 4903

 

CoderDojo

CoderDojo is a global network of community coding clubs building digital literacy and programming skills among young people between the ages of 7 and 17. Dojos are free and social open learning environments that provide a space for young people to learn and practise computer programming in a fun environment and work on their creative digital projects with assistance from volunteer mentors. A groups of local parents, in partnership with Fawkner Community House is starting a CoderDojo club in Fawkner for local families.

Mondays: 6.00 – 8.00 pm.

Dates: March 4 – December 9.

NO COST. 95 Major Road.

For young people aged 7 to 17. Parental supervision required.

 

Good Life Girls Club

The Good Life Girls’ Club is a social group for girls from 8 to 11 year old to meet others, have fun and develop social skills. Girls will participate in community activities and discover ways they can make a positive social contribution and discussions about health and wellbeing. This engaging program will also include:  games, activities to build teamwork, arts and crafts, cooking, as well as incursions and excursions.

Every second Saturday: 11.00 am – 1.00 pm.

Starts: March 2.

COST: $10 per session. 95 Major Road.

For girls aged 8 to 11.

 

Good Life School Holiday Program

The Good Life School Holiday Program takes a holistic approach to providing educational and fun activities in the school holidays. Designed for 8 to 11 year olds, the program will include a wide variety of physical and educational activities that are engaging and fun. Working individually and in teams, the children will create, explore and do hands on activities that develop appreciation for self and others. They will learn valuable life skills and values that will encourage them to participate in community, including compassion, respect and co-operation.

Six 2 hour sessions per school holiday.

Dates: 2019: April 8 – 19, July 1 – 12, September 23 – October 4, 2020: January 6 – 17.

COST. $90 per school holiday. 95 Major Road.

For young people aged 8 to 11. Parental involvement welcome.
